VIRTUAL TOUR OF THE HANSON FIELDHOUSE

Bolstorff Field & Beebe Track

Bolstorff Field was dedicated in September 1995 to A. David Bolstorff, longtime coach of the Warrior football team and campus chaplain. In 2011, Waldorf upgraded the facility as a part of the Shared Services agreement with the City of Forest City, Forest City Community Schools, the Hanson Foundation and Waldorf University. The playing surface was replaced with artificial turf and soccer markings were added. Since that time, Bolstorff Field has been the home site for the football team, and men's and women's soccer programs.

The third and final phase of the Shared Services agreement included the installation of an eight-lane track around Bolstorff Field, areas for field events, a state-of-the-art scoreboard, as well as upgrades to the concessions facility. These track and field facilities were completed during the summer of 2014. Named Beebe Track, in honor of Ray and Joan Beebe, for their contributions to the university, local school district and community. The track was dedicated in April 2015.

Smoking and alcohol use are not permitted inside the fenced-in area of the facility. Pets are also not permitted on the stadium grounds.

The public is permitted to use the track when games or practices are not in progress. The following lanes are available for public use during the week:

  • Monday – Lane 1
  • Tuesday – Lane 2
  • Wednesday – Lane 3
  • Thursday – Lane 4
  • Friday – Lane 5
  • Saturday – Lane 6
  • Sunday – Lane 7

Hanson Fieldhouse/Denny Jerome Court

Originally constructed in 1987 with the adjacent Forest City YMCA, Hanson Fieldhouse was expanded in 1997. The Fieldhouse holds the main athletic office, offices of indoor sports, sports performance center, an athletic training room, wrestling room, and basketball court.

Denny Jerome Court was dedicated on Nov. 9, 2013 to honor former women's basketball coach and athletic director Denny Jerome, for his past and future accomplishments with the university.

Sports Performance Center (SPC)

Waldorf student-athletes have the opportunity to reach their peak potential while reducing the risk of injury. Under the direction of the dedicated sports performance staff, Warriors can train utilizing cardio equipment, free weights, universal squat racks, cable weights and other specialized equipment.

Forest City YMCA

Constructed alongside the Hanson Fieldhouse in 1987, the Forest City YMCA is a great additional resource for Waldorf students. All Waldorf students receive a free membership to the YMCA and all its facilities.

The YMCA features a gymnasium, cardio/strength training room, walking/running track, racquetball courts, swimming pool, sauna, whirlpool, steam room, locker rooms, lounge area and the Oleson Family Game Room.

Denny Jerome Athletic Center (DJAC)

The Denny Jerome Athletic Center was established in 2009. The DJAC houses many of the athletic departments outdoor sport coaches' offices. An indoor hitting facility for baseball, softball and golf offers student-athletes the opportunity to fine tune their swings throughout the year. A second athletic training room is located on the lower level, along with locker rooms for the football and soccer programs.

Baseball & Softball Fields

As part of the Shared Services initiative that began in 2011, the baseball and softball fields at Forest City High School were upgraded to serve both the high school and Waldorf teams. Construction on the fields was completed in fall 2013.

Al Buckley Field, home field of the Warrior softball team, features a resurfaced infield and an artificially-turfed outfield. New dugouts and fencing were also part of the upgrades.

The baseball field's entire infield was artificially turfed. Traditional grass covers the outfield, fencing was replaced and higher outfield walls were created.

Albert Lea City Arena

Since the inception of Waldorf men's ice hockey in 2011, Albert Lea City Arena in Albert Lea, Minn. has served as home to the Warriors. Located 45 minutes from campus, City Arena is open year round. The arena was the host site of the 2015 Northern Collegiate Hockey League (NCHL) Tournament. City Arena also hosts local high school hockey teams and figure skating clubs.
