
Warriors Fall to Statesmen in Day 2 of Weekend Series
PONCA CITY, OK - The Warriors faced off against the Statesman for Day 2 of their series.
In Game 1, the Statesmen took the lead in the first inning, scoring seven runs. Jack Kamalski singled and had an RBI with Atticus Smith scoring the only Warrior run at the top of the second, making it a 7-1 game. The Statesmen scored once more, finishing the game 8-1.
In Game 2, the Warriors put up a fight. Both teams would go scoreless in the first inning. In the top of the second, the Warriors would take an early 5-0 lead as Waldorf's Anothony Hibl, Seth Mifflin, Mason Smith, Isaiah Martin, and Cameron Rindone would all score for the Warriors. The Statesmen would make a comeback through the next three innings, scoring ten runs and holding the Warriors scoreless, making it a 10-5 game. Martin and Hibl would score at the top of the sixth, holding the Statesmen to one run at the bottom of the sixth and making it an 11-7 Statesman game. Hibl would score his third for the day in the top of the seventh but it would not be enough for the Warriors. The Statesmen would take the final game of the weekend with a 11-8 win.
M. Smith would end the day with a double and three RBIs, Brendan McKelvey with a double and and two RBIs, Mifflin with a double, Rindone with two RBIs, and Tyler Wytulka with one RBI.
The Warriors travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for their next games against the Viterbo V-Hawks, St. Ambrose Fighting Bees, and the Mount Mercy Mustangs on March 1 and 2.
