Men's soccer falls at home in GPAC opener

FOREST CITY, Iowa - The Waldorf men's soccer team hosted their first GPAC contest Saturday night as they entertained Mount Marty. The Lancer scored three first half goals and maintained that edge throughout to defeat the Warriors.

The scoring for Mount Marty started in the 12th minute. Zachary Hebda scored off a feed from Lukas Amaya. Hebda scored again two minutes, this time unassisted. In the 22nd minute, Georgie Downs rifled one in from deep for the 3-0 lead.

For Waldorf, Osvaldo Andrade made three first-half saves. Jeremiah Amador took over in net in the second half and played stout defense.

Waldorf (0-5-1, 0-1 in GPAC) next plays at Dordt Wednesday.
