Many PRs set in women's outdoor season opener
PELLA, Iowa - The Waldorf women's track and field team began the outdoor portion of their schedule Thursday at Central College with many personal records set.
Marissa O'Connor was one of the eight personal records set by Waldorf as her time of 5:18.05 in the 1500 meters now ranks fourth all-time in the event. Danielle Wood was right behind O'Connor in the event as her time of 5:25.53 ranks fifth all-time. Wood also broke 20 minutes in the 5000 meters with a time of 19:57.54. That time beat her previous best by nearly a minute. Eliza McKown had a good showing in the 800 meters with a time of 2:23.33. In the field events, Kloey Rossmiller now ranks ninth all-time in the hammer throw. Her distance of 24.69 meters beat her previous best by over six meters.
Waldorf next competes Friday and Saturday at the University of South Dakota Early Bird meet.
