Volleyball Drops to No. 6 V-Hawks at Home

FOREST CITY, IA – The Waldorf volleyball team was back in action for an NSAA conference match against the (6)Viterbo V-Hawks. The Warriors lost in three.

"I thought we had an incredible defensive effort tonight," stated Head Coach Bri Ebenhoe. "We had consistent block touches and amazing digs to keep going toe to toe with a top five team."

The V-Hawks got off to a strong start in the first set by winning 25-15. 

For set two, the Warriors responded well by going on a 5-0 run with back-to-back kills from Kenzie Kidd (SR/Roscoe, IL) and Anna Longhenry (SO/Fenton, IA). Viterbo slowly started to come back to tie the game at 13-13. 

A kill from Charlotte Wright (SR/Porter, MN) tied the game at 16 before the V-Hawks took the set 25-18.

In the third set, the Warriors trailed by one point for a few rallies until the V-Hawks took a 17-10 lead and then won 25-18.

Ebenhoe added, "I am proud of our effort and feel that we are in a good position to show our growth during the second half of conference play."

Kenzie Kidd had a team high of five kills and added 12 digs. Four athletes had four kills, Longhenry, Wright, Alicia Brandt (JR/Lakefield, MN), and Sydney Kidd (FR/Roscoe, IL). Kaylee Kidd (SR/Roscoe, IL) finished with 15 digs. Emily Soukup (FR/Faribault, MN) and Brandt both had four block assists.

Next up for the volleyball team is the Viterbo Tournament starting on Friday, October 13th against St. Francis (Ill.) at 6 pm.
