Tigers Edge Out The Warriors

Forest City, IA – Despite facing some shooting struggles, the Dakota Wesleyan women's basketball team battled through adversity and secured a hard-earned 74-64 victory over the Warriors on Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers (22-5, 17-4 GPAC) relied on strong rebounding, timely free-throw shooting, and solid defense to overcome their offensive challenges and clinch the win.

The Tigers started strong, shooting 52.9% from the field in the first quarter. Emma Yost was a standout early, scoring 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting, while Avery Broughton contributed 3 rebounds. Dakota Wesleyan built a 26-12 lead by the end of the opening period.

In the second quarter, the Tigers' shooting cooled slightly, hitting just 26.7% from the field. Despite this dip, they maintained a 32-28 lead at halftime, with Broughton contributing 4 points to keep the Tigers in control.

Dakota Wesleyan regained its rhythm in the third quarter, shooting 53.3% from the field, including a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. Although a few turnovers kept the game close, the Tigers held on to a six-point lead heading into the final quarter.

Down the stretch, Dakota Wesleyan shot 42.9% in the fourth quarter. Key buckets from Rylee Rosenquist helped seal the victory, and the Tigers closed out the game with a 74-64 win over Waldorf.
