
Men's Soccer Defeats Waldorf 5-0
(Hastings, NE) – Looking to build off of their hard-fought 4-3 win last game, Hastings kept their momentum by defeating Waldorf 5-0 on Saturday, which also represented senior night.
In the first half, freshman Moises Trochez got the scoring going with a cross from senior Joe Vokins in the 29th minute. Ten minutes later, senior Lewis Bowes entered his name in the scoring book with a goal off of a Warrior deflection to put the Broncos up 2-0 at halftime.
Hastings took 15 shots in the first half with eight on goal, while Waldorf was unable to get a shot off. Vokins' four shots led the team, along with three from senior Uzayr Lee.
Vokins scored to open the second half in the 52nd minute, taking a pass from freshman Tim Berger, then Berger assisted freshman Ashley Bosha for a goal in the 65th minute to go up 4-0. In the 87th minute, sophomore Zac Tonniges scored his first career goal on a pass from Bosha to seal the 5-0 win.
Hastings took 34 shots and had 16 on goal, while Waldorf was not able to get off a shot. Vokins led the team with six shots, while Berger, Lee and senior Lewis Albert took five shots each.
Up next, Hastings will host Midland at 8pm on Wednesday, October 16 at Lloyd Wilson Field.
