Warriors Host #1 Minot State University in Weekend Series and Senior Night
ALBERT LEA, Minn. – The Waldorf Division 1 Hockey team took on the #1 Minot State Beavers this weekend. On Friday, both teams scored one goal each in the first period with Waldorf's scored by Luke Nemeth. The Beavers pulled away in the second period with five goals. They scored another five goals in the third period while the Warriors scored two more goals (by Zak Molstad, assisted by Nemeth and Mackenzie Bolger, and Nemeth). Minot State took the win, 11-3.
Before Saturday's game, Waldorf honored their six seniors: Zackary Bender, Geoffrey Dick, JJ Adams, Hunter Beckett, Jeremiah Lebsack, and Jack Deede. The Warriors held the #1 Beavers to six goals for the night, ending with a score of 6-2. Waldorf's two goals came in the first period by Bolger, assisted by JJ Adams and Evan Koivunen, and in the second period by Dominic Toews.
Waldorf travels to Midland University for their next weekend series: Friday, January 24 at 7:30pm and Saturday, January 25 at 7:30pm.
