Warriors lose road GPAC match
MITCHELL, S.D. - The Waldorf volleyball team traveled west to South Dakota Wednesday night for a GPAC tilt at Dakota Wesleyan. The Tigers would sweep the Warriors in straight sets (25-23, 25-12, 25-18).
Waldorf and Dakota Wesleyan opened the conference season last month against each. Dakota Wesleyan swept Waldorf in Forest City. It was the same result Wednesday night in Mitchell, S.D.
The Warriors jumped out to a quick lead in the first set. A pair of Anna Longhenry helped contribute to a 6-1 Waldorf advantage. The lead would remain 5 at 10-5 before DWU started to make a run. The Tigers would take a 14-12 lead. Waldorf regained the edge at 17-15 following an Emily Soukup kill. The set was later tied at 23 all before Dakota Wesleyan scored the final two points of the set to take a match lead. DWU would handily take the final two sets to take the match.
Longhenry led Waldorf with eight kills. Kaylee Kidd led with 18 digs.
Waldorf (10-11, 4-8 in GPAC) next plays at Dordt Saturday.
