Waldorf Warriors' Notable Performances at Luther Norse Invite

Decorah, IA- Waldorf University's Men's Track and Field team showcased notable performances at the Luther Norse Invite on April 5, 2025. The Warriors participated in a variety of events and recorded significant achievements in both running and field categories.

 

Jeaceajay Jappah and Cooper Yao led the charge with historically significant performances. Jappah secured a top finish in the 400 meters hurdles event, placing second, which marked it as one of the top 10 performances in Waldorf's school history. Additionally, he achieved fourth place in the long jump. On the field side, Yao excelled in the shot put, not only placing third but also recording the third-best performance all time in Waldorf's records. Furthermore, Jayden Lawrence showcased his skill with key performances in both the shot put and discus throw.

 

For the women, several Warriors placed in the top ten in their respective events, with standout performances from Marissa O'Connor and Brandi Peck leading the charge. O'Connor secured a 4th place finish in the steeple chase, clocking an impressive time of 13:15.64, making it one of the top all-time performances for the university. Peck delivered a strong performance in the 400m race, finishing with a time of 1:03.84. In the 4x4 relay, the team of Palisoc, O'Connor, Peck, and McKown achieved a commendable time of 4:22.38.

 

In the field events, the Warriors also showed their prowess. Notable achievements included Eve's 30.87m throw in the hammer throw, securing her a place among the top performers of the meet. The team's strength in relay events was on full display as the 4x4 runners clinched 3rd place, demonstrating the depth and talent of the Warriors' Squad.

 

The Warriors look forward to their next challenge at the Dick Young Invitational, set to take place at Grinell College in Grinell, IA, on April 12, 2025. With this recent performance setting the bar high, the team is motivated and ready to strive for more top finishes in future events.
