Athletic Trainers are allied health care professionals that are highly educated and work directly with the coaches and athletes in order to prevent injuries before they occur as well as provide injury evaluation, immediate care and rehabilitation after an injury is sustained. Athletic Trainers must be board certified and licensed to practice in the state of Iowa. Waldorf University employs three full time athletic trainers to provide care for 22 athletic teams.
Services
The AT staff builds its schedule around the practice and games schedule of the teams. The AT staff gives priority to in-season athletes but will see all out-of-season athletes on an appointment basis. The AT staff is available for most practice sessions and in-season games.
The AT Room is equipped with ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot and cold therapy, and other specialized rehabilitation tools and devices.
