Warriors Beat 3 School Records and Crush Personal Bests in Dutch Invitational

PELLA, IA - The Warriors traveled to Central College this past weekend to compete in the Dutch Invite. The men's team recorded 20 personal records, 6 placements within the top 10, and beat 1 school record. The women's team also had a great weekend as well recording 11 personal records, 8 top 10 placements, and beat 2 school records.
On the women's side of things, the warriors found success in both the field and track events. Junior Eliza Mckown had a strong start setting a school record by running the 800m with a time of 2.21.80 and also ran a 5.02.92 in 1500m earning her wet place finishes in each contest. Senior Danielle Wood found her stride in the 10k running a time of 46.13.17 finishing in 1st place as well.
Freshmen Erica Palisoc and Alexa Torres both set 2 new personal bests in both the 100m and 200m. Torres with times of 13.07 (100m) and 27.99 (200m). Palisoc with times of 13.07 (100m) and 27.99 (200m).
For field events, our women were able to put some muscle into their throws, earning 5 top ten marks. Junior, Justice Battle threw a personal best of 10.65 in the shot put. Freshman Faith Haughwout set a new personal record in the shot put with a distance of 10.86. Freshman Emma Logeman competed in the hammer throw, recording a distance of 31.08. Freshman Eve Seedorff recorded 2 new bests in hammer throw (29.16) and in the discuss (26.63) earning her 2 top 10 performances.
For the men, three of those PRs came in the 100 meter dash. Robert Beal ran a 11.15, Xzayvier Horton ran a 10.67, and Andreaz Ramos ran a 11.46. Beal, Horton, and Ramos also PR'd in the 200m dash as well. Ramos beat his prior 200m time with a time of 23.28. Beal beat his 200m with a time of 22.58, and Horton beat his previous record with a time of 21.99. Michael Williams also beat his previous 200m record with a time of 23.76. Blayson Dolney and Cody Mayer also set two new personal bests in the 800m race. Dolney running a 2.10.59 and Mayer running a 2.24.30.
Horton found his speed right away in the 200m race running a time of 21.99 and surpassing a school record.
For field events, freshman James Robey threw a 38.39 hammer throw earning him a 5th all-time placement in the school record book.
The Warriors are back in action next weekend in Decorah, Iowa to compete at Luther College's Norse Invitational.
