Waldorf Cheer Competes in Concordia Day of Duals

SEWARD, Neb. – The Waldorf Competitive Cheer team traveled to Concordia University for their annual Day of Duals. Their first competition was against the host team, the Concordia Bulldogs. Their second competition was with the Dordt Defenders. While the Warriors did not outscore either of their opponents, they perfectly executed each of their routines with zero deductions. Concordia won with a score of 76.2 versus the Warriors' score of 51.9. Dordt won with a score a 71.5 while the Warriors scored 53.6.
Coach Cat Evans said, "This event gave our young team a chance to experience the collegiate cheer competition environment. It has been a great opportunity getting to teach them not only what to do, but why we incorporate specific elements in our routine and how that enhances the score. We weren't planning to compete, so with this team having 2 days of preparation with 8 athletes, hitting zero and maintaining scores consistent with previous years makes the day a success."
The Warriors travel to Dordt University on Saturday, February 22 for the Dordt Cheer and Dance Invitational beginning at 11am.
