Bio

The 2022-23 academic year will mark Mueller's first among the collegiate coaching ranks, following 20 seasons of coaching at Northwood-Kensett High School. There, Mueller's teams won a state championship and had two other top five finishes. Northwood-Kensett recently joined the USA Clay Target League and saw immediate success, placing second in 2021 and boasting the first and second place male shooters. In 2022, the team placed third and had the first and third place male shooters.

Mueller is a lifelong shooter who has held a 4-H Level II Instructor certification since 2006. He coached the Iowa 4-H shotgun team at four National Match events, including a third place finish in trap in 2008. Mueller is also a licensed NRA/USA Level I Shooting Instructor.

Mueller holds an Associate of Science degree from North Iowa Area Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University. He is also a graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and is a member of the North Iowa Regional Response Team.

Mueller is a 2015 inductee of the Iowa Pheasants Forever Hall of Fame.
