Shooting sports competes at Grandview Invite
WAUKEE, Iowa - The Waldorf shooting sports team took part in the two-day Grandview Invitational in Waukee Saturday and Sunday.
The event added scores of four disciplines: trap, skeet, sporting, and super shooting. The coed Waldorf team finished in eighth place.
Fisher Nagel was Waldorf's top male competitor. His round was highlighted by a fifth place overall tally in the super shooting event with a score of 44. He also had a score of 96 in the trap event, which was good for a tie for 16th place. He finished in a tie for 24th place in the individual male standings.
Josh Pung's best event was the super shooting where he finished in a tie for 27th. He finished in a tied for 48th place in the overall standings. Dominic Weaver finished in 66th place.
For the females, Sophie Denger had Waldorf's best overall round. She placed 32nd overall for females. Her best round was trap shooting where she scored 93. Jillian Kardoes and Brianny Myers finished 34th and 35h place, respectively. Nicole Laes was right behind in 37th place.
Waldorf next competes October 19-20 at the ACUI Invitational.
