Waldorf women golfers take top spot at NIACC Invitational

MASON CITY, Iowa - The Waldorf women's golf team had a great team showing Tuesday at the NIACC Invitational in Mason City. They topped the field with a first place team showing.
The Warriors were 12 shots in front of the field with Des Moines Area CC placing second. Three Waldorf golfers placed in the top five overall, led by Amanda Karvala who carded 3-over par 75 to place second. Isabella Heintzelman was two places back in fourth place after shooting a 9-over par 81. Ashley Groesbeck finished in a tie for fifth at 10-over par. Rounding out the Waldorf contingent was Madison Carver at 13-over par and Ashlyn Gutierrez (+23).
NIACC's Meghan DeLong won the individual crown with a 1-over par 73.
Waldorf next competes Saturday and Sunday at the Buena Vista Invitational.
