Waldorf D2 Hockey Falls In Overtime Against Wildcats

MARQUETTE, MI – The Waldorf D2 hockey team returned to action with an away weekend series against the Northern Michigan Wildcats on Friday evening. In an overtime battle, the Warriors suffered a 3-2 defeat.
The Wildcats were first to score halfway through the first period.
In the second period, Evan Koivunen (SO/Wasilla, AK) tied the game at the 16th minute, assisted by Ethan Boyd (FR/Woodridge, ON).
Northern Michigan scored the go-ahead goal, unassisted, in the third period.
Stephen Mosgopoulos (FR/Markham, ON) tied the game to force overtime. Nate Zimmerman (FR/Elmhurst, IL) and Alex Truelson (FR/Centennial, CO) were credited on the assists.
The Wildcats won the game in overtime.
“Another great performance from Treyson. Going to overtime against that team is a good start to the weekend and looking forward to tomorrow’s game,” stated Head Coach Sean Parker. “Evan Koivunen and Stephen Mosgopoulos keep finding the back of the net. It’s nice to have that consistency.”
The Warriors are back tomorrow, October 28th, against the Wildcats at 8 pm.
