Waldorf Falls to Lake Region State College in Weekend Series

DEVILS LAKE, N.D. – The Waldorf Division 2 Hockey team traveled to Lake Region State College to battle the Royals. In Friday's game, the teams ended the first period tied 1-1 with Zach Jimenez's goal assisted by Treyson White. Lake Region scored two more goals in the second period and five goals in the third period while Waldorf was only able to answer with Vincent Hunt's goal in the third period assisted by White and Jimenez. In the net, Treyson Boesch had 64 saves. The Royals came away with the win, 8-2.

On Saturday, Waldorf held Lake Region to just two goals during regulation play. With two of their own scored by Blake Raddatz and Jimenez (assisted by White and Anthony Aulisio), the Warriors and Royals headed to overtime. Lake Region scored on a power play with 20 seconds left in overtime to take the game, 3-2. Goalie Zane Redfern had 56 saves for the game.

The Warriors take a weekend off before they travel to South Dakota State University for their next weekend series on Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1.
