Men's bowling hits the lanes in Cedar Rapids
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Waldorf men's bowling team traveled to the City of Five Seasons for the 5 Seasons Classic this past weekend.
The team placed seventh out of 12 teams. Mount Mercy won the team crown with St. Ambrose finishing second.
Noah Ward had Waldorf's best five-game scoring average. His five-game average of 194.8 was good for 15th place overall. He had two rounds over 200, including a 234. Richard Garrett was next in line for Waldorf. He averaged 177 over his five rounds with a game best of 183. Ryan Kaufman was right behind with a 176.2 average, which included a game best of 195.
"Saturday was rough for the guys," said head coach Kyle Swiderski. "It was a big learning day for how to perform as a team. Sunday was much better. We read the lanes really well and averaged nearly 20 pins a game higher than Saturday. The high point was filling 35 frames in a row during the baker games."
Waldorf returns to action November 16-17 at the MIBC #2 event in Council Bluffs.
