Waldorf Esports earns Overwatch win against University of Rio Grande
FOREST CITY, Iowa - Waldorf University played against the University of Rio Grande in round 1 of the ECAC Division C Playoffs. Waldorf took the first 2 maps with a strong showing but Rio Grande was not willing to throw in the towel. A strong map 3 put Rio Grande on the board, and they used that momentum to win map 4. With the series tied 2-2 and elimination imminent, both teams came out showing strong plays. Rio Grande full capped the final map, forcing Waldorf to do the same. In a photo finish ending, Waldorf won the map during an extended overtime victory to move onto round 2.
The team is back in action on Thursday, November 21 against SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
