Men's golf impressive in pair of home events
ALBERT LEA, Minn. / LAKE MILLS, Iowa - The Waldorf men's golf team delivered a pair of first place performances in hosting the Waldorf Invitational Sunday and the Waldorf Challenge Monday.
Both events Waldorf tied for the team championship. Sunday, the Waldorf 'B' team tied for first place North Iowa Area CC and Iowa Lakes CC. That team was led by Caden Skelding as he was one of three players to shoot under par. He shot a third place round of 71, good for 1-under. Patrick Arndt finished a place behind Skelding as his 1-over par round of 73 was good for a tie for fourth place. Another Waldorf 'B' golfer to place in the top 10 was Logan Hoshauer who shot a 2-over par 74, good for a tie for 7th place.
For the Waldorf 'A' team, Carlos Filipczak and Tyler Clouse led the Warriors a 4-over par 76 each, good for a tie for 11th place. Thomas Houdayer was a shot behind at 5-over par, 77.
Monday, the Waldorf 'A' team tied with Grandview for the overall team championship. Filipczak paced the Warriors with a 1-under par 70, good for second place. Clouse finished fourth with a 1-over par 72. Houdayer came in seventh with a 3-over par 74.
Arndt and Caden Skelding were the top placers on the Waldorf 'B' team as each shot an 8-over par 79.
Waldorf returns to the course for the final time this fall October 7-8 at the Viterbo Invitational.
