Bio
Mark Clouse became the director of golf for Waldorf University in the fall of the 2010-11 season.
In the 2020-21 season, the Warrior men finished as runner-up NSAA Champions and were led by Benjamin Boerjan, Cole Ruckman, Tyler Clouse, and Mitch Anderson, all of whom earned All-Conference honors. The Waldorf women finished fourth, led by All-Conference performers Jordan Aholt and Cassidy Blair.
In 2019-20, the spring championship season was canceled because of COVID, yet the Warriors still saw three players earn NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, seven players were named NSAA Scholar-Athletes, and the women's program was named an NAIA Scholar Team.
In the 2018-19 season, the Warrior men finished third in the NSAA, led by All-Conference players Mitch Anderson, Joe Nordquist, and Manuel Zorrilla, while the women were fourth led by All-Conference players Nicole Misner and Seeret Brar.
Five Warrior players were NSAA Scholar-Athlete honors, and both the Waldorf men's and women's teams were named NAIA Scholar Teams.
In the 2017-18 season, the final with the spilt fall and spring championships, Waldorf hosted the spring portion of the Championships and finished fourth on the women's side and fifth in the men's tournament. Nicole Misner and Halle Hauer earned All-Conference honors for the women, and Zabdiel Flores was All-Conference for the Warrior men.
Six Warrior golfers were named NSAA Scholar-Athletes and two Waldorf women were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes, while the women's team also was named an NAIA Scholar Team.
In the 2016-17 season, the Warrior women finsihed third in the NSAA led by
All-Conference performances by Fernanda Valdes, Maggie Heinlein, and Halle Hauer, and the men were fifth led by All-Conference player Hugo Becerra. Seven Warrior golfers also were named NSAA Scholar-Athletes, five earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, and the women's team was named an NAIA Scholar Team.
During the 2015-16 season, the Warriors put together a fifth-place finish in the NSAA Championships. Two players earned all-conference honors, three were recognized as NAIA Scholar-Athletes and four were named NSAA Scholar-Athletes.
Clouse is a Class A PGA Golf Professional with extensive experience in coaching and instruction. He launched his career in collegiate coaching when he served as the men's golf coach at Minnesota State University, Mankato from 1994-2003. He was voted North Central Conference Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2001 and also guided his teams to a conference championship and five consecutive NCAA Regional Tournaments during his tenure.
In 2003, Clouse relocated with his family to the Dominican Republic after accepting a position as Director of Golf at Guavaberry Golf and Country Club. Coach Clouse worked extensively with the Dominican Golf Federation to grow the game of golf and improve the level of play in the country. Clouse was the Dominican Republic National Coach, training teams to compete in numerous tournaments, including the World Team Amateur Championships, Junior World Championships, Americas' Cup, and the Caribbean Amateur Championships. In 2006, Clouse became the Director of Golf at the Punta Espada Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus designed course located on the eastern coast of the Dominican Republic that is a Top 100 ranked facility and hosted the PGA Champions Tour Cap Cana Championship from 2008-2010.
Clouse has instructed players from novice to scratch golfers, and many of his students have played collegiately and professionally. In addition, Clouse has appeared as a guest instructor on the Golf Channel and caddied on both the PGA Tour and PGA Champions Tour. Mark is also a member of the National PGA Rules of Golf Committee, actively officiating golf tournaments nationally and instructing workshops on the Rules of Golf. The Committee is made up of approximately 35 PGA Members and is responsible for administering the Rules of Golf at all Championships conducted by the PGA of America.
Mark and his wife, Beth, have four children and reside in Forest City.
