Warriors battle No. 16 Defenders in last game of the season
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa - In the last regular season football game in the Great Plains Athletic Conference, the Waldorf Warriors battled but ultimately fell to the Dordt Defenders 75-12.
After a scoreless first half, Waldorf's Louis Williams threw to wide receiver Jorge Rivera, who scored a touchdown in the third quarter to put them on the board. After a missed point after, the Defenders led 47-6.
The Warriors started the fourth quarter with a touchdown from Williams to Justice Johnson, and with an uncompleted two-point conversion, Waldorf trailed 61-12.
For the offense, Williams ended the game with 21 completed passes for a total of 217 yards, Rivera received 11 passes for a total of 67 yards and 1 touchdown, and Johnson received 4 passes for a total of 78 yards and 1 touchdown. Derrick Taylor stepped in for 6 received passes for a total of 49 yards.
On the defensive side, Jakim Brock had 9 tackles, 7 of which were unassisted. Kasen Handal, Josh Mitchell, Keagen Streeter, Ayden Davison, Keegan Handal, and Luke Beyer had 4 tackles each.
The Warriors finished the season with an overall record of 0-11 and 0-10 in the conference.
