Bio
Tyler Chapa joined the Waldorf football staff in the fall of 2019 as the Warriors defensive backs coach.
Prior to taking over as head coach at Waldorf University, Chapa spent his first three seasons coaching at Doane University and the last four seasons as an assistant coach on the Warrior staff. His duties as an assistant coach included coaching the defensive backs, recruiting coordinator, special teams coordinator and academic coordinator.
Originally from San Antonio, TX, Chapa was a defensive back during his playing days at Abilene Christian University and Doane University. Chapa earned his bachelor's degree in criminology from Doane in 2016 and Master of Arts in organizational leadership from Waldorf University in 2021.
Chapa and his wife, Nicole, reside in Forest City, Iowa.
