Warriors Open Season with Dual Against Yellowjackets

LAMONI, IA – The Waldorf men's wrestling team opened their season with an away dual against the Graceland University Yellowjackets on Wednesday evening. The Warriors were defeated 38-7.
125 – Baylen Smith (FR/Burns, WY) was defeated by Robert Albert by pin in the second period.
133 – Malachia Wallway (FR/La Center, WA) competed against Riley Harger and was defeated by decision, 0-9.
141 – Shiwoko Shiwoko (FR/Tuscon, AZ) lost by technical fall, 2-23 in the second period against Jax Wenberg.
149 – Tyler Okada (JR/Anaheim, CA) battled against Zack Wicks and won by decision, 8-1, giving the Warriors four points.
157 – Jalon Strong (JR/Cahokia, IL) kept the momentum and defeated Juan Lopez with winning by decision, 9-3 and adding three more points to the team.
165 – Jack Grell (FR/Aitkin, MN) was defeated by Jett Nelson by a 1-10 decision.
174 – Randry Mugisha (SR/Minneapolis, MN) put up a strong fight against Jeremiah Nyberg but lost by a major decision, 7-18.
184 – Keith Connaker (FR/Palmer, AK) competed against Joseph Teguia and was defeated by a 1-10 decision.
197 – Tayvon Howard (FR/LaGrange, CA) lost by technical fall, 1-18 in the first period against John Schuttler.
285 – In the final dual, Andy Rodriguez (FR/Lompoc, CA) competed against Sam Fleming and was defeated by pin in the first period.
The men's wrestling team will be back in action for the Luther Hill Invite on Saturday, November 4th starting at 9 am.
