Okada Competes at NAIA National Championships
PARK CITY, Kan. – #21 Tyler Okada competed in the 68th Annual Men's Wrestling National Championship on March 6-8 in Park City, Kansas.
In the 149 weight-class, Okada's first round was against Providence's #16 Jalen Vladic. Okada lost by major decision and headed to Round 1 of the consolation bracket. After receiving a bye, Okada faced Eastern Oregon's #15 Jaxon Morlan in Round 2 where Morlan won by decision.
Coach Ryan Dickinson said, "It wasn't the weekend we wanted but we are still proud of his accomplishments as a 3x Scholar All-American and 4x National Qualifier and the impact he has had on the program. He has set the standard for success moving forward. We appreciate everything he did for the Waldorf Wrestling team and look forward to seeing what he will do in the future."
Okada will finish his senior year with a 22-11 record and as a 4x National Qualifier.
