Warriors Finish in Draw Against Fighting Bees

MUSCATINE, IA – The Waldorf men's soccer team was on the road for a non-conference game against the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees. The Warriors were able to tie the game late in the first half and kept the Fighting Bees from scoring to end in a draw, 1-1.
The Fighting Bees got an early goal to start the game by scoring within the first five minutes, unassisted.
The Warriors had a few scoring opportunities before they tied the game from Ansumana Sheriff (FR/Ankeny, IA) scoring with 10 seconds left in the first half, Lucas Berte (SR/Joinville, Brazil) was credited the assist.
Waldorf goalkeeper Charlie Austin-Ross (SR/Essex, UK) came up big with having four saves. The second half remained scoreless and ended in a 1-1 tie.
Berte had a team high of two shots on goal and one assist. Austin-Ross finished the game with seven saves.
Next up for the men's soccer team is an away conference game against Morningside on Wednesday, September 13that 5:30 pm.
