FOREST CITY, Iowa - The Waldorf men's soccer team hosted nationally-ranked William Penn in their home opener Tuesday night Bolstorff Field. The Warriors battled hard but fell to the Statesmen, 4-1.
William Penn outshot Waldorf 20-3 in the contest. Their first goal came in the 27th minute on a shot from Miguel Menendez. They added another goal just four minutes later off the leg of Luigi Mongan. They would take a 2-0 lead into halftime. William Penn extended the lead to 3-0 in the 66th minute. Three minutes later, Louis Hernandez got Waldorf on the board with his second goal of the season. William Penn's Alex Feixas added his second goal of the game in the 74th minute to close out the scoring. Osvaldo Andrade saved nine shots in net for the Warriors.
Waldorf (0-2-1) travels to Illinois Saturday for a game at Judson.
