SIOUX CITY, IA – The Waldorf men's soccer team made their Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) debut on Wednesday evening at Morningside. The Warriors fell 0-2.
The Mustangs scored their first goal early in the game to take the lead.
Lucas Hanchar (FR/Ontario, Canada) had a shot that was blocked, and Harry Villegas (SO/Yuma, AZ) and Alex Ardura (FR/La Fresneda, Spain) each had a shot on goal that was saved by the Mustang goalie.
The Warriros had solid defense keeping the Mustangs from scoring for the majority of the second half but struggled to get momentum on offense. The Mustangs scored their second goal to win 0-2.
Charlie Austin-Ross (SR/Essex, UK) and Kyle Pederson (SO/Ankeny, IA) split time in goal and finished with nine and four saves respectfully.
The men's soccer team is back in action on Saturday, September 16th against Midland at 5 pm.
