Volleyball Beats Faith Baptist Bible College 3-0

ANKENY, IA – The Waldorf women's volleyball team traveled for a non-conference match against Faith Baptist Bible College (NCCAA) on Tuesday evening. The Warriors won 25-23, 25-22, 25-9.
In the first set, the Warriors went up 15-8 with a kill from Devyn Scott (SR/Fort Dodge, IA) and an Eagle error. The Eagles rallied back and capitalized off errors from the Warriors to 23-21. Karyssa Watson (JR/Rocanville, SK) and Scott closed out the first set with kills to win 25-23.
Charlotte Wright (SR/Porter, MN) opened the second set with a kill. The Warriors went up 11-6 before the Eagles took the lead 17-18. An Eagle attack error and back-to-back kills from Anna Longhenry (SO/Fenton, IA) and Watson gave the Warriors a 21-20 lead.
The Warriors won the second set 25-22.
For the third set, the Warriors opened with a 17-4 run. Sydney Kidd (FR/Roscoe, IL) had three straight kills to close out the match and Waldorf won 25-9. As a team, the Warriors had 13 kills and one error in the third set.
"I was very please with the way that we ended this match. Today was a test of our ability to get comfortable and while it took us a bit of time, in the end we were able to perform to our standards," said Head Coach Bri Ebenhoe. "I thought that new people in our lineup did a good job of controlling their controllable elements and improving during the match."
Watson finished with a team-high with eight kills. Longhenry and Scott each added six, and Kidd was close behind with five. Rachel Watson (JR/Littleton, CO) had 19 assists and Macy Stratton (SO/Luverne, MN) tallied 21 digs.
The Warriors move to 8-1 on the season. Next up, the women's volleyball team begins NSAA conference play at Viterbo on Wednesday, September 13th at 6 pm.
