FOREST CITY, Iowa - The Waldorf volleyball team celebrated their seven seniors Saturday night at Hanson Fieldhouse during a GPAC matchup against Mount Marty. The Warriors gave them a memorable night with a sweep of the Lancers (25-20, 25-15, 25-15).
The first set was tight affair before Waldorf pulled ahead late for the 25-20 win. Kills from Kaylin Koch and Jalyn Hovenga gave Waldorf an 18-16 lead. Another Koch kill helped give Waldorf a 21-17 lead. A Kenzie Kidd kill ended the set in favor of Waldorf.
The second set started out tight as well as the score was tied at 9. Waldorf rattled off four straight points to gain an edge. Kills from Kenzie Kidd and Emily Soukup gave Waldorf a 22-13 lead. Another Soukup kill gave Waldorf a 25-15 set win.
Waldorf jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the third set and didn't look back in completing the sweep over Mount Marty.
Hovenga led Waldorf with nine kills. Kaylee Kidd led with 12 digs while Kenzie Kidd added 11.
Waldorf (10-10, 4-7 in GPAC) next plays Wednesday at Dakota Wesleyan.
