Warriors host No. 4 Concordia to tight battle

FOREST CITY, Iowa - The Waldorf volleyball team entertained No. 4 Concordia (Neb.) for a GPAC matchup Friday night. The Warriors played the Bulldogs tough, but Concordia came away with the conference win (25-17, 33-31, 25-13).
Concordia didn't trail in the first set in gaining a 25-17 win. The second set though was a fantastic battle that went back-and-forth that went extra. The Bulldogs had multiple set points, leading 24-20. Waldorf rallied to tie the set at 24-24. Later, a kill from Anna Longhenry and a Concordia error gave Waldorf a set point. The teams exchanged points until it reached 31-31. A Concordia kill followed by a Waldorf error ended the marathon set in favor of the Bulldogs. Waldorf led 10-8 in the third set, but lost steam and Concordia scored 17 of the next 20 points to take the set and the match.
Kaylin Koch led Waldorf with nine kills. Reinya Balderson had 13 assists with Rachel Watson adding 12. Kenzie Kidd led with 11 digs.
Waldorf (8-8, 2-5 in GPAC) is back on the home court Saturday for a conference tilt with Midland.
