Volleyball Drops to Valley City State in 4

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The Waldorf volleyball team closed out the weekend for an NSAA conference match against the Valley City State Vikings. The Warriors lost in four.
The Vikings started off strong by taking the first set 12-25. Waldorf struggled offensively with getting eight kills.
The Warriors bounced back for the second set by winning 27-25 with 14 kills and capitalized on Vikings errors.
In the third and fourth sets, the Warriors were not able to win to force a set five. The Vikings won 11-25 and 16-25.
Charlotte Wright (SR/Porter, MN) finished with a team high of 10 kills on 20 attempts and only one error, giving her a hitting percentage of .450. Alicia Brandt (JR/Lakefield, MN) and Sydney Kidd (FR/Roscoe, IL) both added nine kills. Emma Hovenga (SR/Forest City, IA) and Reinya Balderson (FR/Marshfield, WI) had 22 and 16 assists respectfully. Kaylee Kidd (SR/Roscoe, IL) tallied 23 digs and Kenzie Kidd (SR/Roscoe, IL) added 10.
The Warriors will return to their home court during homecoming week for a conference game against Mayville State on Friday, October 6th at 7 pm.
