Warriors lose tight match at Hastings
HASTINGS, Neb. - A day after playing Doane in Crete, the Waldorf volleyball team stayed in Nebraska for a GPAC match against Hastings. Waldorf played Hastings to three very tight sets, but dropped the conference match (30-28, 25-23, 26-24).
Two of the three sets went past 25 points, including the first set. Hastings ended the set with three straight kills in taking the opener, 30-28. In the second set, Waldorf trailed by four late before pulling within one at 24-23. An attack error ended the set in favor of Hastings. Waldorf held a set point in the third set, but Hastings ended with three straight points to win the set, 26-24, and the match, 3-0.
Kenzie Kidd led Waldorf with 14 kills. She also added 12 digs. Kaylee Kidd had an impressive 28 digs. Reinya Balderson had 23 assists.
Waldorf (9-10, 3-7 in GPAC) returns home to host Mount Marty next Saturday.
