Warriors Close Out 2022-2023 Season at Midland
The Waldorf hockey team started MCH Conference tournament play with a matchup against Midland. The Warriors fell 4-1.
Midland score the only goal in the first period. Their goal was on a power-play against Waldorf and came within the last two minutes of the period.
Four minutes into the second period, Midland score an unassisted goal. The next goal for Midland happened on another power-play against Waldorf.
Morgan Sweeney (JR/Hastings, MN) found the back of the net for Waldorf on a power-play against Midland. Michael Heitkamp (JR/Grand Rapids, MN) and Tyler Nelson (SO/Pleasanton, CA) were credited on the assists.
In the last period, Midland scored their final goal to close the game at a 4-1.
"Tonight's result was very disappointing. Cade Kujawski played very well in net and gave us a chance to win. He came up big as we were killing penalties throughout the game," Head Coach Mike Heitkamp stated. "The guys continued to battle throughout the game. We had a handful of guys that played their last game in a Warriors jersey. It's too bad this had to be that game."
Goaltender Cade Kujawski (SO/Prior Lake, MN) finished the game with 13 saves.
The Warriors end their 2022-2023 season 13-17-2 overall and 7-11-2 in conference.
