Waldorf Hangs with No. 1 Minot State

FOREST CITY, IA – The Warriors held their own on the Friday night ice. Against the best in the American Collegiate Hockey Association, Waldorf hung tough against No. 1 Minot State in a 5-0 men's ice hockey final.
The top-ranked Beavers (25-5) put their first puck into the net only two minutes into the evening. The Warriors' defense held them scoreless for the next 24:07 of the contest and trailed by only a 3-0 score after 40 minutes of action.
Waldorf goalie Jordan Berschiminsky registered an impressive 63 saves in net of the 68 shots on goal he faced against the top-rated foe.
The Warriors put five shots on goal Friday and their defensive unit kept the Beavers scoreless in two power plays.
The two ACHA opponents return to the Albert Lea City Arena ice on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 3) in a 2 p.m. opening faceoff.
