D1 Hockey Battles Against McKendree

O'FALLON, IL – For the second time this month, the Waldorf D1 hockey team played the McKendree Bearcats for a weekend series. This meeting, the Warriors were on the road and were defeated 2-0.
The first period remained scoreless. McKendree had more shots on goal with 18 compared to Waldorf having 12.
In the second period, the Bearcats scored the first goal. The Warriors were held to just seven shots on goal.
The Bearcats opened the third period with a quick goal to secure the win.
Waldorf goaltender Gage Reimer (FR/Medicine Hat, AB) finished the game with 51 saves.
"That was a tough loss. Our guys battled each period. We are getting the goaltending this year. Gage Reimer had another strong performance for us," stated Head Coach Mike Heitkamp. "Right now, we are struggling to score. We just need to keep grinding and get pucks on net and start scoring some ugly goals. They will come; once they do, we will see different results."
The Warriors bounce back for a second game against the Bearcats tomorrow, October 28th. Puck drop is at 3:15 pm.
