D1 Hockey Falls to No. 3 Marauders

MANDAN, N.D. – The Waldorf D1 hockey team was on the road for a weekend series against the No. 3 University of Mary Marauders starting on Friday evening. The Warriors suffered a 7-2 defeat.
The Marauders got off to a commanding start by scoring four straight goals in the 1st period.
Early in the 2nd period, Jeremiah Lebsack (JR/Duluth, MN) found the back of the net for the Warriors, assisted by Brandon McDonald (FR/Winnipeg, MB) and Liam Wallace (FR/Reed Deer, AB).
Three minutes later, Geoffrey Dick (JR/Prespatou, BC) scored another goal, assists from Jordan Ribbink (SR/Perth, Ontario) and Chayse Haberman (SR/Minot, ND).
The Marauders ended the 2nd period with two more goals. In the 3rd period, the Marauders scored their final goal on a power-play against the Warriors to win 7-2.
Waldorf goalie Gage Reimer (FR/Medicine Hat, AB) finished the game with 63 saves.
The Warriors will be back tomorrow, Saturday, November 11th for the second game against the Marauders. Puck drop is at 5 pm.
