SIOUX CITY, IA – The Waldorf women's soccer team had their Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) debut against the Morningside Mustangs on Wednesday evening. After an early goal, the Warriors were not able to secure the win and lost 1-3.
The Waldorf goalkeeper, Samantha Linteo (SR/Napa, CA), had three saves within the first nine minutes of the game. At the 29th minute mark, Gabby Bauman (SR/Breaux Bridge, LA) scored, and Paige Spatorico (FR/North Tonawanda, NY) was credited on the assist.
The Mustangs started the second half by tying the game 1-1. Linteo came up big with six saves before the Mustangs took the lead. Morningside scored their third goal with just under seven minutes left in the game.
Linteo finished the game with a season high of 17 saves.
Next up for the women's soccer team is a conference matchup against Midland in Fremont, Nebraska on Saturday, September 17th at 7:30 pm.
