Warriors Fall to Tigers at Home

FOREST CITY, IA – The Waldorf women's soccer team returned to their home turf at Bolstorff Field for a conference contest against Doane (NE) on Wednesday evening. The Warriors fell 0-4.
The Tigers scored their first goal in the at the 17-minute mark off of a free kick.
Larissa Santos (SR/Sao Paul, Brazil) saw two opportunities off a corner kick by Paige Spatorico (FR/North Tonawanda, NY) to try and score, but the shots were missed high and wide right.
"While our score lines don't look great looking in, I can tell you that our women are warriors. The frustrating thing is we played so well in the first half and ran out of steam in the second and were not able to keep the game close," stated Head Coach Thomas Goodman.
To start the second half, goalkeeper Lucia Serrano Blazquez (FR/Madrid, Spain) had three back-to-back saves, but the Tigers added two more goals.
The Tigers stayed in control on offense by scoring their final goal at the 73-minute mark to win 0-4.
Serrano Blazquez finished the game with five saves.
Goodman added, "Our schedule is also brutal with games this Saturday and games next Tuesday and Thursday. These ladies give everything for the team and it's a shame we have been rewarded with a win, but this team has taught me they will never give up and play to the last second."
The Warriors will travel to Hastings, Nebraska for a conference game against the Broncos on Saturday, September 23rd at 8 pm.
