Women's Soccer put up strong fight against Tigers

MITCHELL, S.D. – The Waldorf women's soccer team was back in action for a conference game against the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers on Wednesday evening. The Warriors put up a strong fight but lost 1-0.
In the start of the game, Iveth Guzman (SR/Mission, TX) and Larissa Santos (SR/Sao Paul, Brazil) made defensive saves and goalkeeper Samantha Linteo (SR/Napa, CA) had four straight saves. The Warriors saw a few scoring opportunities that were saved by the Tigers goalie.
At the 40th minute mark, the Tigers scored to win 1-0.
Linteo finished the game with seven saves. Gabby Bauman (SR/Breaux Bridge, LA), Olivia Cross (JR/Coventry, England), and Sydney Boyd (SR/Aiea, HI) all had two shots on goal.
Next up for the women's soccer team is a non-conference game against the (RV)Bellevue Bruins on Saturday, October 14th at 3 pm.
