UNION LAKE, Mich. - The Waldorf D1 hockey team has made positive strides this season. That is being reflected in the latest American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) standings. In the latest polls, Waldorf is ranked 27th out of 73 ACHA Division I teams. That is the highest ranking in program history.
Waldorf plays in one of the tougher divisions (MCH) in the ACHA. Two of the top three teams in the current rankings reside in the division in No. 1 Jamestown and No. 3 Minot State. Sitting above Waldorf in the standings within the division are No. 18 Mary, No. 19 Midland, and No. 25 Illinois.
Waldorf possesses a balanced offensive attack. Zak Molstad leads eight skaters who have scored multiple goals through 10 games. He's tallied eight goals to go along with six assists. Dominic Toews is next with six goals and four assists. JJ Adams is leading the way with seven assists.
Waldorf (4-6) will be tested in November. They host No. 1 Jamestown Friday and Saturday in Albert Lea. November 8-9, they travel to No. 3 Minot State.
