Men's Basketball Fall to Central College

PELLA, IA – On their first road game of the season, the Waldorf men's basketball team competed against the NCAA Division III Central College Dutch. The Warriors were defeated 75-65.
"We were very undisciplined in the 2nd half," stated Head Coach Nigel Jenkins. "Good teams will make you pay for that and Central did just that."
The Dutch opened the game with a 9-point run. Kaelon Harkema (JR/Louisville, KY) made back-to-back threes and Gabriel Sorensen (JR/West Haven, UT) added another. With just under 10 minutes left in the half, the Dutch were up by 11. Khyle Washington (SR/Atlanta, GA) drained a three and added two made free throws.
Three-pointers from Khalil Grayson (JR/Milwaukee, WI) and Noah Miller (JR/Forest City, IA) gained the lead at 34-32. Grayson added two more 3-pointers and Justin Wiggins (JR/West Palm Beach, FL) ended the half with a layup. The Warriors were up 43-42.
In the second half, Miller made a three to tie the game at 46. The Dutch pulled ahead by eight before Grayson added a three. A dunk from Ugo Ejiofor (JR/Dallas, TX) brought the game within four at 60-64 with 7-minutes remaining. The Dutch went on a 6-0 run to win 75-65.
Jenkins added, "The 2nd half of games has not been kind to us offensively. We missed a ton of bunnies and open shots. We have to get that figured out for next week."
Grayson finished with a team-high of 19 points, going 7-11 from the field, with 5-7 from three-point. Ejiofor added 11 points and 5 rebounds, Wiggins went 4-5 from the field with 9 points, and Washington tallied 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Next up for the Warriors is an exhibition game at the Minnesota State University-Mankato on Friday, November 24th. Tipoff is at 6 pm.
