Warriors Battle Hard but Fall to Mount Marty

YANKTON, S.D. - The Waldorf Men's Basketball team battled hard in the second half to come back from a 12-point deficit at halftime and take a 3-point lead with 5 minutes left to play. The Lancers fought back against the Warriors as well to take another lead before Waldorf tied it up again with 3 minutes left. Despite their efforts, the Warriors couldn't take the lead back, and the Lancers won 74-70.
Two Warriors earned double-doubles tonight: Ugo Ejiofor with 26 points and 12 rebounds and Gene Noble with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Both Warriors also blocked two shots each, and Noble came away with one steal. Nick Graves was on the board with 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists, and Khalil Grayson assisted on 6 baskets as well.
"We got off to another slow start," Coach Demitrius Martin said. "Thought our fight in the second half was great. Some guys came in and gave us a spark off the bench. We clean up things here and there and find a way to sustain what we gave the second half, we'll be fine. Just have to keep fighting."
Waldorf is back in action on Wednesday, January 8 at 7:45pm in the Hanson Fieldhouse with another GPAC opponent, #11 Dordt University.
