Waldorf powers past Hastings College, 80-72, behind balanced scoring attack

HASTINGS, Neb. - In an exciting back-and-forth matchup, the Waldorf Warriors secured a hard-fought 80-72 victory over Hastings College, riding a balanced offensive effort. The Warriors saw five players score in double digits, led by a dominant double-double performance from #24 Ugo Ejiofor, who finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Ejiofor, who was a force on both ends of the floor, was instrumental in the win. His 12 rebounds helped Waldorf control the glass, while his scoring and shot-blocking provided a steady presence throughout the game. He was also a key contributor in the paint, using his size and strength to dominate inside and protect the rim.
The Warriors' balanced attack made it difficult for Hastings to lock down any one player, as Waldorf consistently found the open man. As a team, Waldorf showed off impressive shooting percentages, including a solid 70.4% from the free-throw line, ensuring they capitalized on their opportunities when it mattered most.
On the other side, the Broncos couldn't find enough consistent scoring late in the game as Waldorf's defense held them to 38% shooting in the second half.
With the win, Waldorf has now won 2 games in a row. A result that Coach Demitrius Martin has been pleased with: "Our guys played really well tonight, and executed the gameplan," he said. "We did a great job sharing the ball and staying composed, especially when Hastings made a few runs. Our bench was outstanding as well, but it was really a collective effort that got it done tonight."
As Waldorf moves forward, the team will look to build on tonight's performance. With five players contributing in double digits and a solid team shooting performance, the Warriors will aim to carry this momentum into their next matchup.
The Warriors now turn their focus to their next opponent, Dordt University in Sioux Center, IA on Wednesday, November 20th at 7:45pm.
