Waldorf battles but falls to Midland University

FOREST CITY, Iowa – After a slow start in the first half, the Waldorf Men's Basketball team battled in the second half but came up short against Midland University, 89-72. Waldorf started the second half strong with success on the offensive side and tough defensive stops to bring the score within 10 points, but they couldn't keep the momentum going.
Emmanuel Ferguson put in a good game with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. Off the bench, Nick Graves scored 16 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and had 4 assists. Ugo Ejiofor put up 12 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in addition to his 4 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks. Gene Noble finished with 12 points as well, adding 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block. Khalil Grayson, Noah Miller, and McNeal Thompson IV were all on the board with 7 points, 6 points, and 2 points respectively.
Coach Demitrius Martin said, "Tonight we got off to a really slow start offensively. Normally we can rely on our defense, but it wasn't there in the first half. The second half was a little better but wasn't enough. We have to regroup and move on to the next one."
The Waldorf Warriors head to Yankton, South Dakota this weekend for Saturday's matchup against Mount Marty University at 4pm.
