Waldorf Triumphs Over Doane University, 56-49

Crete, IA- The Waldorf Warriors secured a thrilling 56-49 victory over Doane University on Saturday, earning a hard-fought win in a tightly contested matchup. The Warriors' defense and key contributions from several players helped them edge out the Tigers in a game that saw both teams battling tooth and nail until the final buzzer.
From the start, it was clear this would be a closely contested game. Waldorf and Doane exchanged leads multiple times throughout the first half, but the Warriors' defense began to shine as the game progressed. Despite struggling with turnovers early on, Waldorf held Doane to just 49 points, forcing the Tigers into difficult shots and limiting their second-chance opportunities.
The game's turning point came late in the second half, when Waldorf, leading by a slim margin, went on a crucial 9-0 run. Doane fought back, but Waldorf's ability to execute in the clutch helped seal the win.
Head coach Demitrius Martin was pleased with his team's resilience after a challenging stretch of games. "Our defense and rebounding got the job done tonight. We found a way to make plays when we needed to offensively," Martin said. "The guys worked their tails off the whole game and I'm glad it paid off with a win. Now we're on to the next one."
With the win, Waldorf improves its record and gains momentum heading into their next GPAC contest. The Warriors will face the Concordia Bulldogs (NE) on Saturday, December 14th at 3:45pm in the Hanson Fieldhouse.
