Men's Basketball Falls to Indiana South Bend

SOUTH BEND, IN – The Waldorf men's basketball team had its second of six straight road games against the Indiana University South Bend Titans on Friday evening. The Warriors were defeated 76-61.
1st Half: Justin Wiggins (JR/West Palm Beach, FL) started the game off with a three-pointer. Khalil Grayson (JR/Milwaukee, WI) forced a turnover with a steal which resulted into a made layup from Ugo Ejiofor (JR/Dallas, TX) to take an early 5-2 lead. The Titans responded with an 11-0 run on the Warriors. A made three-pointer from the Titans gave them a 21-9 lead.
Kaelon Harkema (JR/Louisville, KY) drained a three, turned around on defense with a blocked shot, defensive rebound, and got an assist with Gabriel Sorensen (JR/West Haven, UT) making a layup. Noah Miller made back-to-back threes and a steal with a layup from Khyle Washington (SR/Atlanta, GA) tied the game 27-27 with just over 3-minutes in the half. The Warriors finished the 1st half with a two-point lead over the Titans, 32-30.
2nd Half: Harkema scored the first five-points for the Warriors. Sorensen forced a Titan turnover with a steal and Washington made a layup to give Waldorf a 46-43 lead. The Titans went on a 10-0 run against the Warriors. After an offensive rebound, Ejiofor stopped the run with a layup.
With 4-minutes left in the game, Harkema hit a three-pointer. The Warriors were down 55-62. The Titans took control be going on an 11-point run to win the game 76-61.
"I thought our guys competed for most of the game," Head Coach Nigel Jenkins stated. "There were a couple of really bad spells defensively and offensively that we had and they made us pay for it, espeically in the 2nd half. We have to be better tomorrow."
Washington finished with a team high of 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 steal. Harkema added 11 points and 2 steals. Grayson tallied 10 points and 4 rebounds. Ejiofor had 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals.
The Warriors will stay in Indiana for another game tomorrow, December 2nd, against Holy Cross in Notre Dame. Tip-off is at 2 pm.
