Warriors Fall to Fighting Hawks in Exhibition Matchup
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – In their sixth straight road game, the Waldorf men's basketball team had an exhibition game against the NCAA Division I University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks. The Warriors were defeated 87-36.
1st Half: The Fighting Hawks started the game with an 11-0 run against the Warriors. Noah Miller (JR/Forest City, IA) made a three-pointer to stop the run. Ugo Ejiofor (JR/Dallas, TX) grabbed an offensive rebound and put it up for a dunk. The Fighting Hawks kept a commanding lead throughout the half. Cartier Parr (FR/Milwaukee, WI) ended the first half with a layup and the Warriors were down 40-11.
2nd Half: Khalil Grayson (JR/Milwaukee, WI) opened the second half with a three-point play. Gene Noble (JR/Roy, UT) went 2-2 from the free-throw line and Justin Wiggins (JR/West Palm Beach, FL) added a jump shot. The Fighting Hawks were up 60-20 with 13 minutes left. Noah Gwinn (JR/Liberty, SC) made five straight points and Wiggins added another three. The Fighting Hawks shot 55.7% from the field to win 87-36.
Wiggins finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 assist. Ejiofor had 5 rebounds, 4 points, and 1 steal, and Gwinn added 5 points.
The Warriors will return to Hanson Fieldhouse on Saturday, December 16th for a game against Dakota Wesleyan (SD). Tip-off is at 3 pm.
