Warriors Face Mount Marty at US Bank Stadium
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The Waldorf baseball team traveled to play at US Bank Stadium for a doubleheader against Mount Marty. The Warriors dropped both games, 2-5 in game one and 4-14 for the second.
In the first game, the Warriors scored first in the top of the 2nd inning with Atticus Smith (SO/Kent, WA) getting a double RBI with Ryan Webster (SO/Las Vegas, NV) scoring. Anthony Hibl (JR/Sharon, WI) grounded out to second base, but Smith was able to get the second run.
The Lancers scored four runs in the 5th inning with a 3-run homer and then their final run in the 6th winning to win 2-5.
Pitcher Skyler Yarborough (JR/The Colony, TX) threw six innings with six strikeouts and Jamie Olson (SO/Menifee, CA) threw two innings with two strikeouts and one walk.
For game two, the Lancers scored their first run in the top of the 2nd inning. Webster responded with a 2-run homerun with him and Thomas Capllonch (SR/Kailua, HI) scoring to take the lead.
The Lancers had a big 4th inning by scoring seven runs. In the 5th inning the Lancers added two more and, in the 7th, added four.
Damien Sanchez (JR/Riverside, CA) got a two RBI double with Hibl and Juan Jorge (JR/Bronx, NY) to home plate. The Warriors lost 4-14.
Next up for the Warriors is a non-conference weekend series against Olivet Nazarene in O'Fallon, Missouri at The CarShield Field (O'Fallon Hoots Baseball Field). The Warriors will play a doubleheader on Friday, March 10th starting at 11 a.m. and a one 9-inning game on Saturday at 12 p.m.
